Let me let you in on a little secret

I actually canceled my maternity session when I was pregnant with Stevie and I regret it 100%.

I’ll never forget my super petite frame expanding to a size and weight I could never imagine. I will never forget, getting so big, I couldn’t get my legs into bed. I also will never forget when my OBGYN told me I needed to slow down the eating because I was gaining too much weight. HAAA! When I tell you, I did not care. I really mean it. I ate all the french fries.

But here is what I have forgotten:

How it felt, when my daughter moved for the first time. What it was like to have her that close to me at every moment and empowering it felt to know I had life growing inside of me.

I was so consumed with feeling uncomfortable in my skin, that I failed to remember that I needed those pictures for myself and most importantly, for her to see one day.

 

3 reasons to have a maternity session

1. Do it for them. Your baby is going to grow up and ask where they came from. Children love to see these types of photographs. Especially as adults. When they grow old, they will be able to look back at beautiful photographs of their mother carrying them.
2. To Remember. Whether these 9 months have gone by quickly or feel like one million years of pregnancy, you will look back at this time years after your baby’s birth and hardly remember what it felt like and looked like to be pregnant.
3. You are beautiful. You look amazing. I know you may not always feel like that but it is my job to make you feel beautiful and capture images, just as you are.
